Roles and Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement category strategies and plans aligned with business objectives, target market segments, and competitive landscape.
2. Define category growth goals, product assortment strategies, pricing strategies, and promotional calendars to drive sales and profitability.
3. Lead the selection, sourcing, and procurement of products within assigned categories to ensure a diverse and competitive product assortment.
4. Identify market trends, customer preferences, and competitive insights to inform assortment decisions and optimize product mix.
5. Develop pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximize revenue, margin, and market share.
6. Analyze pricing elasticity, competitive pricing dynamics, and promotional effectiveness to identify opportunities for pricing optimization and revenue growth.
7. Collaborate with inventory planning and replenishment teams to manage inventory levels and optimize stock levels within assigned categories.
8. Monitor inventory turnover, stockouts, and excess inventory to ensure optimal inventory management and minimize inventory holding costs.
9. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, sales, operations, and finance, to align category strategies with business objectives and customer needs.
10. Utilize data analytics and market research to analyze category performance, customer behavior, and market trends.
11. Identify opportunities for new product development and innovation within assigned categories.
12. Work with product development teams to conceptualize, develop, and launch new products that meet customer needs and differentiate offerings in the market.
13. Monitor category performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
2. 4+ years of experience in category management, product management, or merchandising, preferably in the agriculture or retail industry.
3. Strong understanding of category management principles, product assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotional tactics.
4. Excellent analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
5. Proven track record of driving sales, profitability, and market share growth through effective category strategies and initiatives.
6. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
7. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments.
8. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or Tableau.
9. Knowledge of agricultural products, market dynamics, and customer needs and preferences is a plus.
10. Passion for agriculture and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of farmers and agricultural communities.
