Description:

Role Overview

The Category Manager will be responsible for driving the commercial performance, profitability, and growth of assigned product categories.

This role combines revenue ownership, brand management, and customer experience optimization, ensuring strong topline growth while maintaining margins and enhancing customer engagement across digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

Driving Sales & Revenue Growth

- Own and deliver top-line revenue targets for the assigned category within the approved investment and marketing budgets to meet overall P&L objectives.

- Develop, implement, and continuously optimize category growth strategies focused on improving key metrics such as conversion rate, average order value (AOV), traffic, and revenue per visitor.

- Oversee website/category content management, ensuring alignment with monthly calendars, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and overall marketing strategy.

- Track category-level KPIs and take data-driven actions to maximize sales performance and efficiency.

Brand & Category Performance Management

- Plan and manage category and brand budgets, set performance goals, and closely monitor ROI.

- Ensure margin performance is maintained in line with overall business guidelines and profitability targets.

- Plan and execute brand and category campaigns across digital platforms, marketplaces, and owned channels, taking corrective actions where required to stay aligned with business plans.

- Drive brand visibility, recognition, and awareness for accountable brands through structured campaigns and partnerships.

- Prepare and present regular performance reports against agreed metrics in approved formats for leadership review.

Customer Experience, Retention & Growth

- Design and implement processes and initiatives aimed at improving customer retention and repeat purchases within the category.

- Drive banner and lifecycle revenue through customer list growth, segmentation strategies, and improved campaign effectiveness.

- Analyse customer journeys and user experience across channels and touchpoints using web and performance analytics tools.

- Identify friction points and opportunities to enhance customer experience, engagement, and long-term loyalty.

Required Experience & Skills

- 6 -10 years of experience in category management, brand management, or business management roles within e-commerce, retail, D2C, or omnichannel environments.

- Proven experience owning category-level P&L, revenue targets, and margin performance.

- Strong understanding of digital commerce KPIs, including conversion, AOV, customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.

- Hands-on experience managing promotions, campaigns, and content across web, mobile, and digital marketing platforms.

- Strong analytical skills with experience using web analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools to drive decision-making.

- Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, merchandising, supply chain, and operations.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA or equivalent degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related fields.

- Experience in managing multiple brands or large product portfolios.

- Exposure to customer lifecycle marketing, CRM, and segmentation strategies is a strong plus
