- Develop and own the category strategy (assortment, pricing, promotions, supplier-mix) to drive sales growth, margin enhancement and market share.

- Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour and competitive activity to identify white-space opportunities and threats.

- Define annual operating plan (AOP) for the category: target sales, margin, inventory turn, new launches, channel mix.

- Manage supplier/vendor relationships: sourcing new vendors, negotiating terms, contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance tracking.

- Work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain and other stakeholders.

- Lead regular business reviews: supplier QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews), internal stakeholder updates, post-promotion analyses.

- Drive continuous improvement: introduce new SKUs, rationalise under-performing SKUs, improve assortment productivity, optimise pricing and promotional effectiveness.

- Ensure compliance with company policies: vendor onboarding, ethical sourcing, quality standards, regional regulatory requirements.

- For quick-commerce / high-velocity channels, additional focus on: rapid replenishment, channel-specific assortment, high turn-over SKUs, logistics cost control, right-sizing inventory near fulfilment centres.
