The Category Lead - FMCG (Food & Personal Care) will drive growth and profitability across packaged foods and personal care categories on the Q-commerce platform. The role involves strategic category building, vendor partnerships, pricing, assortment optimization, and driving consumer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Ownership:
- Own full P&L for Food & Personal Care categories.
- Drive GMV growth, margin expansion and category penetration.
- Develop 12-month category roadmap.
Brand & Vendor Partnerships:
- Manage relationships with leading FMCG brands (national and emerging).
- Negotiate commercials, listing fees, trade marketing budgets and exclusives.
- Drive joint business planning with top suppliers.
Assortment & Portfolio Strategy:
- Build strong assortment architecture across premium, mass and value segments.
- Introduce new launches and trending SKUs.
- Improve private label share where applicable.
Promotions & Growth Levers:
- Design and execute promotional strategies aligned to platform campaigns.
- Drive basket building and cross-category bundling.
- Analyze consumer data to improve repeat purchase and frequency.
Operations & Availability:
- Ensure optimal inventory health and fill rates.
- Coordinate with supply chain and demand planning teams.
- Reduce expiry risks and improve working capital efficiency.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 6-12 years of experience in FMCG category management, buying, or modern trade.
- Exposure to Food and/or Personal Care categories.
- Strong commercial acumen and vendor negotiation experience.
- Data-driven decision maker with P&L accountability.
