
Work Overview:
The Category Lead will drive category growth, revenue strategy, and profitability across channels. The role involves defining category strategy, building a scalable product portfolio, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver strong product-market fit and sustainable growth through data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the overall category P&L, driving long-term, scalable, and profitable growth across channels.
- Define and lead the category strategy, ensuring alignment with brand vision, customer needs, and business goals.
- Set direction for product, pricing, and assortment, ensuring strong alignment with quality, style, and market positioning.
- Lead trend forecasting and market analysis to identify new opportunities, white spaces, and category expansion areas.
- Drive category roadmap and growth plans, including portfolio expansion, vendor ecosystem development, and new initiatives.
- Oversee assortment planning, inventory strategy, and demand planning to optimize availability and minimize inefficiencies.
- Define and optimize pricing and margin architecture, partnering with supply chain and marketing to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across design, sourcing, marketing, and retail to drive category performance and customer experience.
- Identify key growth levers and lead strategic initiatives to improve conversion, visibility, and overall category performance.
- Champion data-driven decision-making and implement scalable processes, automation, and best practices across the category.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members while ensuring strong stakeholder alignment and execution excellence.
Eligibility:
- Bachelors/Masters in Fashion, Technology, or MBA
- 8+ years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising (retail/e-commerce)
- Strong exposure to D2C, e-commerce, or consumer businesses
- Experience in scaling categories and managing P&L is preferred
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to drive data-backed decisions
