Job Title: Category Head Marketing

Education: MBA in Marketing and Sales, from a Tier1 institute.

Experience: 12-15 years of relevant experience with at least 5-7 years in the area of Brand Management.

Skills:

- Problem Structuring and Analysis

- Strategic thinker with strong business and commercial acumen and hands-on approach

- Strong Quantitative & Analytical skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Customer and Market orientation

Attributes:

- Strategic thinking with impeccable ground level execution

- Ability to lead a competent team of Managers and add value

- Ability to think ahead of the curve and sense senior leadership expectations to manage priorities accordingly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Target Achievement:

- Plans & ensures marketing support to ensure achievement of agreed top line and bottom line targets

- Ensures optimal utilization and control of budget.

Strategy:

- Develops long term and short term Category Strategy.

- Alignment and development of marketing mix elements

- To ensure development and implementation of marketing mix elements in line with Business/ Marketing Plans. The elements would include:

- Communication Strategy (including advertising) Promotional Plan (Consumer Promo, Trade Promo, Merchandising and other visibility initiatives)

- Media Planning

- Packaging

- Pricing Decisions

- Product Development

- Agency Management

- Ensures optimal utilization of agency resources (Market research agencies, Advertising agencies, Media Agencies)

Channel Management:

- Developing and managing wide dealer network including planning & achieving of agreed growth percentage in the coverage.

Market Research - Ensures development of Market research briefs and interpreting research findings.

Market Analysis:

- Sales analysis both primary and secondary, territory, ORG reports.

- Competition / consumer tracking.


- Media tracking

- Profitability tracking

- Development of Team Members

- Enables team members to sharpen their key competencies.

- Manages, motivates and develops team members.
