Role Overview:
As the Category Head for FMCG, you will serve as the primary architect of the company's product strategy, overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of our offerings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, sales, and marketing, to ensure that our assortment aligns with market trends and profitability targets. This role is pivotal in driving business growth, as you will be responsible for the P&L of your categories, ensuring that pricing, margins, and stock availability are optimized to meet aggressive revenue goals while maintaining a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the complete P&L for assigned categories, ensuring top-line growth and bottom-line profitability through rigorous financial oversight.
- Develop and execute comprehensive assortment planning strategies that cater to evolving B2B market demands and consumer preferences.
- Define and implement competitive pricing strategies to maximize market share while protecting healthy gross margins.
- Lead stock replenishment and inventory management initiatives to ensure optimal product availability and minimize carrying costs.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate favorable terms and secure high-quality product supply.
- Analyze retail planning data to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks associated with market volatility.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence and meet quarterly business objectives.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in category management within the FMCG industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale P&Ls.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data sets for informed decision-making regarding pricing and assortment.
- Exceptional negotiation skills to manage vendor relationships and secure strategic advantages in a B2B environment.
- Ability to communicate complex strategies effectively to senior stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams to align with business goals.
- Proven experience in retail planning and supply chain optimization, with a deep understanding of stock replenishment cycles.
- A postgraduate degree from a premier business school is highly preferred, reflecting a strong foundation in management principles.
- High degree of adaptability and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, on-site work environment in Gurgaon.
