Category Head - Apparel Designer Athleisure

We are looking for a visionary Category Head - Athleisure to lead the end-to-end development and scaling of a high-growth athleisure/activewear category. The role involves owning the category P&L, driving product design and innovation, and building the business from ground zero to scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Category & Business Ownership:

- Build and scale the athleisure/activewear vertical from scratch, owning complete category P&L.

- Define category vision, product roadmap, and long-term growth strategy aligned with brand goals.

- Drive topline growth, margin optimization, and inventory efficiency.

Product Design & Development:

- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle-from concept, design, fabric selection, and sampling to final production.

- Drive innovation in performance fabrics, fits, functionality, and trend-led design.

- Work closely with sourcing, merchandising, and production teams to ensure speed-to market

Market & Consumer Insight:

- Deep understanding of consumer needs, global athleisure trends, and competitive landscape.

- Use data and market insights to drive product decisions and category expansion.

Go-To-Market & Scaling:

- Partner with marketing, sales, and e-commerce teams to launch and scale the category across channels (D2C, marketplace, retail).

- Plan and execute seasonal drops, pricing strategies, and promotions.

Team Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing design and category management team.

- Drive a culture of ownership, agility, and innovation

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 5+ years of experience in athleisure / activewear / sportswear categories.

- Strong background in design-led product development and category scaling.

- Proven experience in building a category or business vertical from scratch.

- Strong commercial acumen with hands-on P&L ownership.

- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and execution skills.
