Category Analyst - eCommerce

Responsibilities:

- Support the Category Lead in driving growth and performance for core **Home Décor categories** at Fableroom, starting with the UK market.

- Conduct **market research** and analyze data across categories to identify consumer trends, competitor movements, pricing benchmarks, and assortment opportunities.

- Assist in **assortment planning and stock management**, working closely with Design, Sourcing, and Logistics teams.

- Track and analyze **sales performance, inventory health, pricing, and promotional impact** to provide insights that inform category decisions.

- Maintain and update **benchmarking reports** (pricing, promotions, competitors) and share actionable recommendations with the Category Lead.

- Contribute to **sales forecasting and demand planning** to ensure right inventory levels, minimising stockouts and overstocking.

- Support execution of **product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns** in collaboration with Marketing and Category Lead.

- Prepare **performance scorecards, dashboards, and reports** to track progress against business goals.

- Take ownership of **ad hoc research projects** and provide analytical support for decision-making across category initiatives.

Requirement:-

- 2–3 years of experience in **Category Management, Business Analysis, or related roles** within a consumer brand, ecommerce, or marketplace environment.

- Strong analytical skills with experience using **Excel/Google Sheets** and data visualisation tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau).

- Comfortable working with **large datasets**, spotting trends, and translating numbers into clear business insights.

- Customer-obsessed, with a genuine interest in **Home Décor and consumer behaviour**.

- Excited to learn and grow in a **fast-paced, early-stage startup environment**, with the ability to adapt quickly and take initiative.

- Strong communication and presentation skills — able to prepare clear reports and share insights effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams with minimal supervision.

- Proficient in spoken and written English.
