JOB PURPOSE:

Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking an Assistant Manager - Finance who can lead key finance operations across Procure-to-Pay (P2P) invoice processing, support General Ledger accounting and monthly books close, ensuring strong controls, accurate accounting, timely reporting, and effective stakeholder support. This role requires strong expertise in India GAAP and US GAAP, working knowledge of Oracle and Ariba, and proven capability to manage and develop a team while driving process improvements and automation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

Finance Operations (P2P, Close, Compliance):

- Lead and monitor end-to-end P2P invoice processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

- Support monthly books close activities, including preparation/review of journals, accruals, and reconciliations.

- Ensure timely and accurate vendor accruals, expense accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.

- Oversee Treasury payments, vendor payment queries, and resolution of escalations with internal and external stakeholders.

- Prepare/review monthly trackers and validate against contractual terms to identify recoverables.

- Support year-end statutory audits and tax audits, ensuring completeness of documentation and timely closure of audit requests.

- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting guidelines, and compliance standards.

Controls, Governance & Continuous Improvement:

- Implement and strengthen internal controls across P2P and compliance processes.

- Establish operational metrics and reporting to improve visibility and performance.

- Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives.

People Management & Leadership:

- Manage, coach, and develop the team; ensure appropriate staffing for critical activities.

- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and create development plans.

- Build capability through mentoring, cross-training, and succession planning.

- Promote strong ownership, collaboration, and a continuous improvement culture.

QUALIFICATION:

Candidates must be a qualified CA or MBA.

EXPERIENCE:

- 10 - 12+ years of experience in finance and accounting with exposure to Accounts Payable, GL accounting, and audit support.

- Strong working knowledge of India GAAP and US GAAP.

- Experience with Oracle ERP and Ariba.

- Knowledge of direct and indirect taxation including GST concepts.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle escalations and ambiguity.

- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; macros/automation capability is a plus.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and team leadership skills.
