Job Title: Head / Sr. VP / Vice President Debt Syndication
Location: India

Role Overview:
The role oversees the full spectrum of debt syndication and debt capital markets operations. It requires an experienced professional who can originate high-value mandates, structure complex financing solutions, lead syndication efforts, manage senior-level client relationships, and guide a high-performing team. The position plays a strategic role in shaping the firms debt market presence and driving growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Origination & Business Development:
- Build and manage strong relationships with corporates, promoters, financial institutions, and intermediaries.
- Originate mandates across diverse debt products including term loans, working capital, project finance, structured debt, and refinancing.
- Generate a steady pipeline of opportunities aligned with business objectives.
Deal Structuring & Execution:
- Design and structure tailored financing solutions based on client needs and credit profiles.
- Evaluate financial statements, assess creditworthiness, and determine risk-return parameters.
- Lead preparation of term sheets, transaction documentation, and negotiations with stakeholders.
- Ensure smooth execution from mandate signing to deal closure.
Syndication & Distribution:
- Drive the syndication strategy and ensure optimal lender and investor participation.
- Leverage and expand the network of banks, NBFCs, AIFs, funds, and other lending institutions.
- Oversee end-to-end syndication including lender discussions, credit approvals, and transaction finalization.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of debt professionals.
- Review performance, set goals, and provide guidance on complex transactions.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, client meetings, and strategic discussions.
Strategic Initiatives & Market Insight:
- Partner with senior management on product design, market positioning, and business strategy.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and sectoral developments.
- Provide market intelligence to support decision-making and innovation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- Strong track record in originating, structuring, and closing large, complex transactions.
Education: CA, MBA (Finance), CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
Core Competencies:
- Strong expertise in credit analysis, structuring, documentation, and transaction execution.
- Well-established network across corporates, banks, NBFCs, and other lenders.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and financial modeling capabilities.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and multiple mandates simultaneously.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver within tight timelines.
