About the job:
The primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the capital expenditure (Capex) and operational expenditure (Opex) budgets of the organization. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a Management Information System (MIS) related to Capex activities. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and renewable energy industry dynamics
Principal Accountabilities:
Capex Budget Management:
- Develop, monitor, and control the annual Capex budget for the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify capital investment needs and align them with the organization's strategic goals.
- Review project proposals, financial justifications, and feasibility studies to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Track and report Capex spending against the budget, providing regular updates to management.
Opex Budget Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the Opex budget, including expenses related to operations, maintenance, and other recurring costs.
- Work closely with department heads to understand their Opex requirements, forecast spending, and control costs.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify deviations from the budget and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor Opex trends and implement strategies to optimize expenses while maintaining operational efficiency.
Capital Expenditure Management Information System (MIS):
- Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive MIS for Capex activities, including project tracking, financial analysis, and performance metrics.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insights into Capex utilization, project status, and financial performance.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and security.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and implement tools or software solutions to enhance efficiency.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct financial analysis, including ROI calculations, payback period, and other relevant metrics, to evaluate the viability of capital projects.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and investment prioritization.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with Capex activities.
- Collaborate with internal audit and risk management teams to address control deficiencies and implement risk mitigation measures.
