BFA Product Owner (Global Financial Framework)

Role Overview

The BFA Product Owner is a key strategic role responsible for the end-to-end delivery and successful implementation of the BFA (Business Function Analysis/Financial Framework) for assigned entities.

This role requires strong leadership experience in leading cross-functional global teams and ensures strict alignment with the global BFA framework and consistency across all deployments.

The incumbent acts as the critical liaison between business stakeholders (including FinOps), data teams, and technology partners, ensuring all delivery meets stringent business requirements and design principles.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a background in leading global, cross-functional teams to oversee the implementation of a critical financial framework (BFA). The ideal candidate will be adept at managing the full product lifecycle, from backlog prioritization and sprint planning to final delivery and stakeholder communication. Key responsibilities include ensuring functional requirements align with the BFA roadmap, guaranteeing consistency in reporting/enrichment logic, and managing relationships with FinOps, Data Operations, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to enforce standardized design and execution.

Key Responsibilities and Product Delivery Deliverables

Strategic Delivery Leadership: Lead delivery of the BFA solution for assigned entities, ensuring complete adherence and alignment with global standards and the overarching BFA framework.

Functional Roadmap Ownership: Provide essential business oversight of functional requirements, validating user stories and ensuring the development work aligns directly with the established BFA roadmap and strategic objectives.

Agile Management: Own and manage the entire delivery workflow, specifically driving prioritisation, backlog refinement, and sprint planning for all BFA delivery items, maximizing team throughput and value delivery.

Cross-Workstream Coordination: Coordinate across workstreams (Data, Technology, Business) to ensure consistency in reporting and enrichment logic, which is critical for the integrity of the global financial framework.

Stakeholder Management and Design: Work closely with FinOps, Data Operations, and SMEs to ensure the development adheres to standardised design and execution protocols and principles.

Risk and Progress Management: Proactively Monitor progress, resolve delivery risks and impediments, and maintain transparent, timely communication of updates to senior stakeholders regarding project status and potential impacts.

Team Leadership: Utilize Experience leading cross-functional global teams to drive consensus, resolve conflicts, and ensure unified project execution across geographical boundaries.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Mandatory Experience leading cross-functional global teams.

Product Management: Proven expertise in Manage prioritisation, backlog, and sprint planning for complex delivery items.

Business Acumen: Ability to provide business oversight of functional requirements and ensure alignment with a strategic roadmap.

Coordination: Demonstrated ability to Coordinate across workstreams and manage complex dependencies (Data, Technology, Business).

Communication: Strong skills in managing risks, monitoring progress, and communicating updates to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

- Prior experience in financial services, financial planning, or specific financial analysis frameworks.

- Technical familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and financial reporting systems.

- Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM, CSPO, or equivalent Product Owner certification).
