
To lead and oversee the end-to-end credit function for Affordable and Prime Housing Loan portfolios, ensuring prudent credit risk management, regulatory compliance, portfolio quality, and scalable credit operations aligned with business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Credit Policy & Risk Management:
- Define, implement, and periodically review Credit Policy, SOPs, and underwriting norms for Affordable and Prime Housing Loans.
- Ensure credit frameworks balance growth, risk appetite, and portfolio quality.
- Approve deviations and policy exceptions within delegated authority.
- Monitor portfolio risk indicators including GNPA, NNPA, ECL, delinquency trends, and early warning signals.
2. Credit Approval & Oversight:
- Provide final sanction/ratification for high-value and sensitive proposals.
- Ensure uniform underwriting standards across all regions and branches.
- Guide credit teams on complex cases including self-employed, informal income, LAP, builder tie-ups, and restructured accounts.
- Review and strengthen loan appraisal quality and documentation standards.
3. Portfolio Monitoring & Control:
- Track portfolio performance across Affordable and Prime segments.
- Coordinate with Collections, Legal, and Recovery teams on stressed accounts.
- Lead credit audits, internal inspections, and regulatory examinations.
- Ensure timely corrective actions on audit observations and risk findings.
4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with NHB, RBI, Fair Practice Code, KYC/AML, and other statutory requirements.
- Oversee implementation of regulatory changes impacting credit and underwriting.
- Act as the key interface with auditors, regulators, and risk committees.
5. Business & Stakeholder Alignment
- Partner with Business, Operations, IT, and Legal teams to support sustainable growth.
- Evaluate and approve new products, pricing changes, and credit programs.
- Support digital credit initiatives, LOS/LMS enhancements, and automation.
6. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop regional and HO credit teams.
- Define KRAs, performance metrics, and training frameworks for credit staff.
- Drive a strong culture of risk awareness, integrity, and accountability.

- Strong understanding of secured lending, income assessment, collateral valuation
- Excellent risk assessment and decision-making capability
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with exposure to MIS, portfolio analytics, and ECL models
Qualifications:
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Finance, Banking, Economics, or Management
- Professional certifications (CA, MBA - Finance, CFA) preferred
Experience:
- 15-25 years of overall experience in Housing Finance / Retail Lending
- Minimum 7-10 years in senior credit leadership role
- Proven track record in managing large Affordable & Prime Housing portfolios
