HR Trainee

Location: Pune Job Description: You will be responsible for designing, managing, and executing Tata Motors' campus recruitment strategy across engineering, diploma, and management institutions. This role plays a critical part in building a strong early-career talent pipeline to support the organization's long-term talent needs, especially in the areas of manufacturing, EV technology, R&D, digital engineering, and business management. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in the manufacturing sector and proven expertise in hiring Diploma Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and MBA talent. Key Responsibilities 1. Campus Strategy & Workforce Planning: - Develop and implement the annual campus hiring strategy aligned with business goals and workforce planning inputs. Collaborate with HR Business Partners and functional leaders to understand hiring requirements, including the number of trainees, technical skill needs, and diversity objectives. Identify and prioritize target campuses such as IITs, NITs, Tier-1/Tier-2 engineering colleges, management institutes, and leading diploma polytechnics. Create strategic plans to strengthen Tata Motors' talent footprint across key institutes. 2. Relationship Management with Academic Institutions: - Build strong and sustainable relationships with campus stakeholders, including placement officers, faculty members, and institutional leadership teams. Manage MoUs, campus partnerships, internships, industrial training programs, and special capability-building initiatives. Ensure a positive employer presence through consistent engagement-industry talks, guest lectures, technical workshops, innovation challenges, plant visits, and pre-placement interactions. 3. Execution of Campus Recruitment Drives: - Lead the complete planning and execution of campus hiring cycles across multiple regions. Oversee pre-placement talks, online and offline assessments, group discussions, case study rounds, and technical as well as HR interviews. Coordinate seamlessly with internal assessors, panel members, and business representatives to ensure high-quality and timely selection processes. Ensure adherence to Tata Motors' values and fairness in evaluation. 4. Employer Branding & Campus Outreach: - Drive employer branding initiatives to position Tata Motors as a top choice for young engineering and management talent. Represent the organization at career fairs, leadership talks, forums, conclaves, and campus events. Promote Tata Motors' EV advancements, digital transformation initiatives, innovation culture, and growth opportunities to attract high-caliber students. 5. Candidate Management & Selection Analytics: - Monitor candidate progress through all stages of evaluation and maintain high-quality communication. Prepare dashboards and hiring analytics covering selections, offer-to-join ratios, assessment performance, diversity representation, and institute-wise effectiveness. Use data insights to refine future hiring strategies. 6. Offer Management & Pre-Onboarding Engagement: - Manage offer rollouts, compensation discussions, role clarity, and student queries related to postings and onboarding. Conduct structured engagement programs to maintain candidate interest and reduce offer declines or drop-offs. 7. Onboarding, Induction & Early Talent Engagement: - Support the onboarding, induction, and integration of GETs, DETs, MBAs, and other trainees. Facilitate orientation programs, buddy initiatives, periodic check-ins, and early-career development interventions to ensure strong retention and assimilation.
