Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chartered Accountant with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience to join our Direct Tax team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Transfer Pricing (TP), Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Tax, and Global Mobility Services (GMS).

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex domestic and international tax matters, provide strategic advisory, and contribute significantly to client success.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Income Tax (CIT):

- Preparation and review of income tax returns (ITR) for various corporate entities.

- Assistance with tax planning and advisory for corporate clients to optimize tax liabilities.

- Handling income tax assessments, appeals, and other litigation matters before tax authorities (e.g., Assessing Officer, CIT(A), DRP, ITAT).

- Providing consultancy on TDS applicability, withholding tax implications, and advance tax computations.

- Ensuring compliance with Indian Income Tax Laws, Income Computation and Disclosure Standards (ICDS), and other statutory requirements.

- Analysis of tax implications of various business transactions and advising on tax-efficient structures.

Transfer Pricing (TP):

- Assisting in the preparation of Transfer Pricing reports and documentation, including benchmarking studies.

- Conducting functional analysis, industry research, and economic analysis for TP documentation.

- Ensuring compliance with Indian Transfer Pricing Regulations, OECD Guidelines, and BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) actions.

- Support in drafting TP planning reports and audit defense files.

- Coordinating with cross-functional teams and tax authorities for TP assessments.

- Providing advisory on international tax issues related to cross-border transactions.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Tax:

- Providing M&A Tax / Transaction Tax advisory and opinions on complex issues related to Mergers, Demergers, Slump Sales, Business Succession, and other corporate restructuring activities.

- Conducting Direct Tax Due Diligence.

- Analyzing tax implications of various M&A transactions and advising on tax-efficient structuring of deals (inbound and outbound).

- Assistance with treaty interpretations and structuring of revenue/capital flows (e.g., dividend, royalty, fees for technical services, interest).

- Working knowledge of allied laws such as SEBI, NBFC, CCI, and Companies Act as they relate to M&A.

Global Mobility Services (GMS):

- Advising on tax implications for expatriates and inbound/outbound employees.

- Assisting with tax planning and compliance for individuals with international assignments.

- Providing guidance on double taxation avoidance agreements (DTAA) and their applicability.

- Analysis of tax implications of incentives given to employees and advising on tax-effective structures.

Qualifications and Skills:

Mandatory: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax, with a strong focus on Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, M&A Tax, and Global Mobility Services.

- Experience with Big 4 or other reputed consulting/CA firms is preferred.

- In-depth knowledge of Indian Income Tax Law, Transfer Pricing regulations, and International Taxation principles.

- Strong understanding of tax implications related to M&A transactions and corporate restructuring.

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Knowledge of accounting software like SAP is an added advantage.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

- Strong research skills to stay updated with the latest tax legislations and amendments.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- High ethical standards and professional integrity.

- Strong client relationship management skills and commercial awareness
