BXI Technologies - Senior/Principal Consultant - Battery Energy Storage System

Role Overview

The BESS Consultant will support end-to-end development of Battery Energy Storage System products, working across system architecture, engineering design, manufacturing enablement, and go-to-market readiness. The role focuses exclusively on BESS domain expertise, helping organizations build scalable, containerized, and market-ready energy storage solutions aligned with grid, renewable, and EV infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities:

BESS System & Architecture

- Lead BESS system design, including DC block architecture and containerized BESS solutions for grid-scale, C&I, and EV-related use cases.

- Integrate electrical, thermal, and structural design to ensure safety, performance, and scalability.

- Drive component-level engineering across battery cells, modules, racks, PCS, HVAC, fire protection, and auxiliaries.

Battery Management System (BMS) Enablement

- Support development of in-house BMS capabilities, including requirements definition, system architecture, and validation strategy.

- Advise on reducing dependency on imported or proprietary BMS platforms through IP-led design and vendor ecosystem development.

- Ensure alignment with relevant safety, grid, and compliance standards.

Manufacturing & Industrialization Support

- Provide consultancy for BESS manufacturing and assembly setup, including plant layout, assembly sequencing, and test processes.

- Advise on production line design, tooling, quality gates, and scale-up readiness.

- Collaborate on supply-chain strategy, localization, and cost optimization.

Go-to-Market & Product Readiness

- Support BESS product positioning, use-case definition, and technical differentiation.

- Translate engineering capabilities into clear market-facing value propositions.

- Support pilots, PoCs, and customer technical engagements with a pure BESS focus.

Digital Governance & ROI Visibility

- Advise on digital monitoring, performance analytics, and lifecycle governance for BESS assets.

- Enable improved ROI visibility, asset health tracking, and decision support across deployments.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) architecture and design.

- Hands-on experience with containerized BESS solutions and DC system design.

- Working knowledge of electrical systems, thermal management, and structural engineering.

- Practical exposure to BMS hardware, firmware, safety logic, and validation.

- Understanding of manufacturing engineering and industrialization for energy products.

- Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and technical communication skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Power, Energy Systems, Electronics, or Mechanical

Engineering.

- 9+ years of experience in energy storage, renewables, power electronics, or grid-scale systems.
