About the Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic, design-driven, and commercially astute Buying & Sourcing Manager to lead product strategy, vendor development, and seasonal planning across our premium fashion and lifestyle categories.
This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced professional with a keen eye for trends, a strong vendor network, and an entrepreneurial mindset to balance creativity, cost efficiency, and business profitability.
You will work closely with the design, merchandising, and planning teams to curate compelling product assortments that align with evolving consumer preferences and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Buying & Sourcing: Lead the complete buying lifecyclefrom concept to deliveryensuring alignment with brand positioning and seasonal strategies.
- Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, ensuring best-in-class quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Product Strategy: Collaborate with design, merchandising, and marketing teams to build seasonal lines and ensure strong assortment planning.
- Market & Trend Analysis: Monitor emerging fashion trends, consumer insights, and category performance to refine buying decisions and optimize product mix.
- Commercial Planning: Define pricing architecture, margin structures, and sell-through strategies for each category.
- Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, manage MOQs, and ensure sustainable vendor relationships.
- Quality & Compliance: Oversee product development, fabric sourcing, and quality assurance to maintain brand standards and customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with logistics and production teams to ensure smooth supply chain coordination and on-time delivery.
Candidate Profile:
- 8-12 years of experience in buying, sourcing, or category management within fashion, apparel, or lifestyle retail.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale vendor networks and supplier relationships across domestic and international markets.
- Strong understanding of fabric sourcing, cost negotiations, and production planning.
- Deep knowledge of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and product lifecycle management.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and business planning skills.
- Strong project management capabilities with experience in multi-season buying cycles.
- Proficiency in Excel, PLM tools, and ERP systems for data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Qualification: NIFT graduate is mandatory; MBA or advanced certification in Fashion Business / Merchandising is a plus.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with leading fashion brands, retail chains, or eCommerce platforms.
- Exposure to private label development and international sourcing markets.
- Balance of creative sensibility and commercial focus, with the ability to translate trend insights into business outcomes.
