Buyer - Strategic Sourcing - Sheet Metal Commodity

Asst./Dy. Manager (strategic sourcing- sheet metal commodity)

Responsible for commodity management, strategic sourcing, and supplier development for sheet metal and welded components such as brackets, tanks, chassis parts, panels, fenders, footstep, K-frame, hot-stamped parts, long members, and cross members.

The role also involves capex investment settlement, cost management, and developing long-term sourcing strategies.

1.Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for sheet metal components.

2. Drive cost negotiation, value engineering, and total cost of ownership improvement.

3. Conduct supplier selection, assessment, and development for welded, pressed, and fabricated parts.

4. Manage capex & tooling investment settlements with suppliers (FTG tools, dies, fixtures).

5. Lead material cost containment and annual savings initiatives.

6. Conduct supplier risk assessment and implement mitigation actions.

7. Support capacity planning, bottleneck removal, and long-term supply planning.

8. Benchmark industry for latest technologies and cost trends.

9. Use data analytics for cost modelling, should-cost analysis, and supplier performance evaluation.

10.Manage financial analysis related to sourcing decisions.
