Business Unit Lead/Business Finance Partner - Startup

Our client is a fast-growing B2B startup looking to bring on a Business Finance Partner - BU Lead to join their growing finance team. This role sits at the intersection of finance and business, ideal for someone with 4 - 5 years of core Business Finance experience who enjoys working closely with business leaders and using numbers to drive decisions.

You will co-own the P&L of a Business Unit, working alongside the BU Head to track performance, manage costs, improve profitability, and support business growth. The role demands strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, business partnering, and problem-solving.

Location: Bangalore

Mode: On-site, 5 days/week

Years of experience: 4 - 5 years

Qualification: CA 2021 - 2022

Responsibilities include:

- Co-own the BU P&L with the Business Unit Head and track overall financial performance.

- Lead budgeting and forecasting while working closely with business and FP&A teams.

- Analyse revenue, costs, margins and variances to identify key business drivers.

- Partner with business teams on growth opportunities, investments and strategic decisions.

- Identify cost optimisation and efficiency opportunities across the business.

- Build regular financial reports, dashboards and insights for leadership.

- Work with cross-functional teams to address financial and operational challenges.

- Improve financial processes, reporting and controls across the BU.

- Travel 20 - 30% within India to understand business operations, vendors and customers.
