Role Overview


A Hospital Unit Head is responsible for the daily operations, staff management, and overall performance of a specific hospital unit. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient patient care, managing budgets and finances, developing and implementing unit-specific strategies, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards. Essential qualifications typically include significant experience in hospital management, strong leadership and communication skills, and a relevant degree like a Bachelors in Healthcare Administration or an MBA/MHA.


Key responsibilities include:


- Overseeing all operational activities at the unit level, acting as a Strategic Business Leader accountable for specific deliverables.


- Designing, managing, and ensuring smooth and effective day-to-day operations and implementing best practices in Hospital Administration.


- Assuming P&L responsibility for Operations, including meeting turnover targets and adhering to operative margins as per the business plan.


- Forecasting and preparing the annual operating plan in collaboration with the Medical Director.


- Identifying and concentrating on profitable service lines and developing self-supportive revenue-generating programs.


- Monitoring and controlling costs across all levels of BU operations.


- Managing liaison and statutory requirements for the unit.


- Planning and reviewing operational tasks such as infrastructure growth, recruiting, performance reviews, and compensation.


- Collaborating with central procurement and pharmacy functions to optimize costs.


- Collecting and acting on Patient feedback in consultation with the Medical Director.


Job Specifications:


- Minimum Qualifications MBA Hospital Management / Hospital administration.


- Technical Qualifications MS Office.


- Ability to handle administration and operations of the Unit.


- Excellent written and communication skills.


- Mandatory relevant experience of at least 12 to 15 years in Hospital Operations.
