JOB DESCRIPTION:
Role Overview:
Role Summary: The Business Head P&L Owner - Food Brands will be the end-to-end owner of the food brand business, responsible for FOCO/FOFO investor acquisition, establishment of 400500 Cafetarias outlets across India, pre-opening execution, day-to-day operations, and full P&L ownership.
This role goes beyond setup and operations - He is accountable for capital inflow, profitability, ROI, scalability, and long-term sustainability of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. FOCO Investor Sales & Capital Raising
- Understand and execute the Chairmans vision for the Food Brands Cafeteria & Kiosk business formats
- Design and execute FOCO/FOFO investor acquisition strategy to raise investments for cafeteria expansion
- Drive marketing campaigns and lead funnels to generate high-quality investor leads
- Conduct investor meetings, pitches, negotiations, and closures
- Present:
Unit economics
ROI & break-even models
Profitability projections
- Ensure strong investor confidence, transparency, and post-investment relationship management
2. Business Concept, Format & Positioning:
Define and optimize cafeteria/kiosk formats based on location and audience:
a. High Streets
b. Premium Locations
c. Corporate offices & IT parks
d. Educational institutions
e. Malls, public places & transit hubs
f. High-street & outdoor locations
- Decide brand mix, pricing strategy, menu architecture, and service models per format
- Ensure each format delivers commercial viability, speed of service, and repeat consumption
3. Pre-Opening & Business Establishment (0 - 1 Ownership)
Lead end-to-end setup of cafeterias/kiosks from concept to inauguration:
a. Site identification, feasibility & footfall analysis
b. Commercial negotiations with mall owners, corporates, landlords, and authorities
c. Layout planning, kiosk/cafeteria design & fabrication
d. Equipment, POS, signage, and vendor onboarding
Ensure:
- All licenses & statutory approvals (FSSAI, fire, municipal, etc.)
- Budget adherence and timeline discipline
- Manage simultaneous multi-city launches at scale
4. Cafeteria & Kiosk Operations (1 - N Scale)
- Own daily operations across all cafeteria/kiosk outlets
- Build and enforce SOPs covering:
a. Kitchen operations & hygiene
b. Food quality & consistency
c. Inventory, wastage & procurement
d. Manpower productivity & scheduling
e. Customer experience standards
- Recruit, train, and manage:
a. Area Managers
b. Store/Kiosk Managers
c. Kitchen & service staff
- Ensure operational excellence, cost control, and brand consistency across India
5. Financial Management & P&L Ownership (Non-Negotiable)
- Own complete P&L responsibility for the cafeteria/kiosk for Food brand
- Drive:
a. Revenue growth per outlet
b. EBITDA margins
c. Cost optimization (food, manpower, rent, overheads)
- Track and improve:
a. Outlet-level profitability
b. Investor ROI
c. Breakeven timelines
- Prepare and present:
a. Budgets & forecasts
b. Monthly and quarterly P&L reviews
Performance dashboards for leadership and investors
- Ensure the vertical runs as a profitable, scalable business, not just an operational network
6. Marketing, Growth & Scale Strategy
- Work with marketing teams on:
a. Local store marketing
b. Launch campaigns
c. Offers, promotions & partnerships
- Identify expansion opportunities and new cafeteria formats
- Continuously improve menu engineering, pricing, and demand generation
- Build a long-term roadmap to scale 400500 profitable outlets nationwide
7. Team, Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Build and lead a strong cross-functional team
- Act as single-point owner between:
a. Investors
b. Vendors
c. Location partners
d. Internal leadership
- Conduct performance reviews and corrective action plans
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies and food industry regulations
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality / Business (MBA preferred)
15-20 years of experience in:
a. Cafeteria / QSR / branded food businesses
b. Franchise or FOCO/FOFO business models
c. Multi-location operations with P&L ownership
- Background in brands such as: Café Coffee Day, McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Starbucks, Chai Point, etc.
- Strong understanding of FSSAI, food safety, and regulatory compliance
Key Competencies:
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with financial ownership
