About the role:

Our client is a reputable manufacturer of specialty chemicals serving a wide range of industries such as Pharmaceutical, Animal Health, Agro-Chemical, and Specialty Chemical sectors. With a strong legacy of more than 3 decades, our client is renowned for its expertise in producing APIs, Intermediates, and AI solutions. The company holds a unique position in offering a wide range of capabilities in CRAMS (Contract Research and Manufacturing Services) and bulk development services.

Our client seeks a Head of Business - Specialty Chemicals Division. The incumbent will be responsible for full P&L ownership. The primary mandate is to build and scale this business into a high-growth vertical. This leadership role requires strategic and operational oversight, commercial acumen, and the ability to scale manufacturing and R&T efforts.

Principal Activities:

- Develop and execute a business strategy for the Specialty Chemicals Division.

- Identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities in segments such as Personal Care, Food Additives, and Electronic Chemicals.

- Build a differentiated product portfolio and sustainable business model.

- Scale the division toward an agreed revenue ambition.

- Own full P&L responsibility for the division including revenue growth, cost optimization, capital investment, and resource allocation.

- Set annual operating plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.

- Drive profitability through strategic pricing, cost leadership, and operational efficiency.

- Develop strategic partnerships with key customers and industry influencers.

- Strengthen the go-to-market model, including sales, marketing, key account management, and branding.

- Expand into new markets and geographies, including certain international markets.

- Partner with R&T to drive innovation and commercialization of new products.

- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and reliable production.

- Build and lead a high-performance cross-functional team covering operations, R&D, sales, marketing, and support functions.

- Embed ESG principles into business operations.

Education & Experience:

- 18+ years of experience in specialty chemicals, allied sectors, personal care or food additives; exposure to specialty chemicals CDMO can also be considered.

- 5+ years of experience leading a P&L having revenues of INR 200+ crore.

- Stable track record of working in high quality Indian or MNC organizations with a relevant educational qualification such as a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field (e.g., chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, etc). MBA is preferred.
