Business Head Forging & Casting Manufacturing

Location: Coimbatore

Role Summary

The Business Head will have overall responsibility for leading a forging and casting manufacturing facility, with full accountability for operational performance, financial results, quality standards, and workforce effectiveness. This role demands a strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on manufacturing leadership to drive sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategic Direction

- Formulate and execute business plans that support long-term growth and competitiveness

- Align manufacturing strategy with evolving market demands and customer expectations

- Identify opportunities to strengthen market position and operational capabilities

Manufacturing & Operations Leadership

- Direct end-to-end plant operations, including production scheduling, sourcing, maintenance, and quality functions

- Ensure optimal utilization of resources to achieve productivity, delivery, and cost targets

- Resolve operational challenges through structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making

Financial & Performance Management

- Lead annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities

- Track financial performance against targets and drive initiatives to improve margins and cost efficiency

- Ensure disciplined capital and expense management

People & Culture

- Build, lead, and retain a capable leadership team across functions

- Encourage a performance-oriented culture with emphasis on ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning

- Support talent development and succession planning

Quality & Process Excellence

- Establish robust quality systems to meet regulatory, industry, and customer requirements

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and waste-reduction practices

- Ensure consistency in product quality and process reliability

Safety, Compliance & Governance

- Champion workplace safety and ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory norms

- Promote best practices in environmental, health, and safety management

- Maintain a strong compliance and governance framework

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

- Develop strong partnerships with key customers and stakeholders

- Address customer concerns proactively and ensure high levels of satisfaction

- Collaborate with customers on quality, delivery, and technical requirements

Candidate Profile

Education

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline

- Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is preferred

Experience

- 20+ years of experience in manufacturing operations

- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within forging and casting environments

- Proven track record of managing complex manufacturing operations and delivering business results
