Business Head - Convenience Stores - Retail

Job Description:

Role Purpose:

The Business Head Convenience Stores will be responsible for leading the overall retail business, driving sales growth, profitability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across the convenience store network.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the overall convenience store business with full P&L responsibility.

- Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue, profitability, and market expansion.

- Manage store operations, merchandising, pricing, inventory, and customer experience.

- Drive sales growth through effective promotions, assortment planning, and category management.

- Develop strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure product availability.

- Monitor business performance through KPIs and implement improvement initiatives.

- Collaborate with procurement, finance, supply chain, and HR teams to ensure smooth business operations.

- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing retail teams.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.

Skills and Experience:

Candidate Profile:

- 15-22 years of experience in retail, FMCG, convenience stores, supermarkets, or modern trade.

- Proven experience managing large retail operations with full P&L ownership.

- Strong understanding of merchandising, category management, inventory planning, and store operations.

- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-location retail businesses.

- Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience in Africa or emerging markets will be an added advantage.

- Willingness to relocate to Zambia.
