Job Purpose:
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the retention and expansion of existing accounts.
This role requires strong domain expertise in freight forwarding (air and sea), the ability to craft high-impact sales strategies, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, target, and acquire new customers for air and sea freight services through strategic outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
- Develop robust sales strategies to expand market presence and achieve revenue goals.
- Prospect and qualify new leads, managing the end-to-end sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure.
- Build, nurture, and retain strong relationships with new and existing clients, gaining a deep understanding of their logistics needs and operational challenges.
- Develop tailored freight solutions (air and sea) for clients by evaluating cost, transit time, service levels, and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer interactions, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of queries and escalations.
Operational Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams including pricing, operations, documentation, and customer service to ensure seamless shipment execution and service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and industry standards.
- Coordinate internally to support commercial negotiations, claims handling, and dispute resolution when required.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Track and monitor sales performance metrics including sales conversion rates, revenue per client, pipeline progress, and customer retention.
- Prepare and present detailed monthly and quarterly sales reports and business reviews to senior management.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up post-sale through to payment collection, maintaining high standards of commercial governance.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay updated on global logistics trends, competitor strategies, pricing shifts, and industry developments to refine sales strategies.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on emerging opportunities and risk areas.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proven sales experience with a track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of international logistics, customs regulations, and global trade procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
