
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager with a strong background in Salesforce services sales to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, expanding our market presence, and fostering strategic relationships, particularly within the Automotive and FMCG sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform, a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, and the ability to articulate complex solutions to C-suite and senior-level executives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities for Salesforce consulting, implementation, and managed services.
- Achieve and exceed aggressive quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Proactively identify and pursue new leads through networking, cold outreach, industry events, and leveraging existing relationships.
Market Penetration & Industry Focus:
- Leverage existing strong networks and relationships within the Automotive sector (OEMs, dealerships, auto parts manufacturers, automotive finance, etc.) to generate immediate pipeline.
- Actively explore and penetrate new opportunities within the FMCG industry, understanding their unique challenges and how Salesforce can address them.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities within both target sectors and the broader Salesforce ecosystem.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, including C-suite executives (CIO, CMO, COO, CEO), VPs, and Directors, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Conduct thorough discovery calls and workshops to understand client business challenges, pain points, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with pre-sales, solution architects, and delivery teams to craft tailored Salesforce solutions that address client needs and deliver measurable business value.
Sales Process & Operations:
- Manage the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and statements of work (SOWs).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts and pipeline in the CRM system (preferably Salesforce).
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
Collaboration & Thought Leadership:
- Work closely with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and content that resonate with the Automotive and FMCG sectors.
- Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives to enhance company visibility and generate leads.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes and methodologies.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales, with a primary focus on selling Salesforce services (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, MuleSoft, Tableau, Pardot implementations, customizations, integrations, and ongoing managed services).
- Proven industry experience: Demonstrated success and a strong professional network within the Automotive industry (OEMs, dealerships, after-sales, supply chain) is highly desired.
- Experience within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry is also highly desirable.
- A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas and driving significant revenue growth.
Sales & Business Acumen:
- Deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and its various clouds, with the ability to articulate its value proposition to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong ability to lead consultative, solution-based sales conversations, identifying client needs and positioning appropriate Salesforce solutions.
- Exceptional negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills.
- Proficient in pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM usage (Salesforce CRM experience preferred).
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and concisely.
- Outstanding presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing C-suite and senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
