Role Summary
The Retail Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the expansion of budgeted retail spaces aligned with brand strategy. The role encompasses identifying and converting strategic mall and high-street properties, conducting market mapping for expansion opportunities, negotiating commercial terms, forecasting future retail locations, and developing a scalable franchise network. This leader will ensure process adherence, maintain accurate tracking systems, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cost-effective and timely retail growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute retail expansion plans that align with overall brand objectives and market positioning.
- Identify, assess, and acquire retail spaces in malls and high street locations to maximize brand visibility and customer access.
- Conduct comprehensive market mapping and analysis to pinpoint growth opportunities across assigned geographies.
- Negotiate lease and commercial terms to secure profitable, cost-effective retail spaces.
- Build and manage franchise networks, ensuring consistent brand representation and operational compliance.
- Maintain detailed trackers and dashboards for retail projects, pipeline, and franchise performance metrics.
- Collaborate with real estate, legal, finance, marketing, and store operations teams to facilitate seamless execution of retail expansion.
- Forecast future location requirements based on market trends, consumer behavior, and business forecasts.
- Ensure adherence to company processes, policies, and commercial guidelines in retail business development activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 5 to 10 years of proven experience in retail business development, preferably in apparel, fashion, or related consumer sectors.
- Strong expertise in real estate acquisition, market analysis, lease negotiation, and franchise management.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to forecast and plan long-term retail growth strategies.
- MBA or graduate with a business, marketing, or related background preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
