Job Purpose:

To drive business growth for ESG rating products by identifying opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and promoting ESG solutions aligned with sustainability and responsible investment frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Generation & Sales Strategy

- Identify and develop new business opportunities for ESG rating products across institutional investors, corporates, asset managers, and consultants.

- Build and execute a strategic sales pipeline aligned with quarterly and annual targets.

- Client Engagement & Relationship Management

- Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers and ESG stakeholders.

- Understand client sustainability objectives and align ESG rating solutions accordingly.

- Market Intelligence - Stay updated on ESG trends, regulatory developments (e.g., SEBI, EU Taxonomy, SFDR), and competitor offerings.

- Provide market insights to internal ESG strategy and product teams.

- Collaboration & Partnerships - Work closely with ESG analysts, research, marketing, and legal teams to ensure customized solutions.

- Proposal & Contracting - Prepare tailored pitches, RFP responses, and commercial proposals.

- Negotiate contracts in coordination with internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

- Education: Master's degree in Finance/ Sustainability/ Environmental Science, or Business.

- Certifications - CFA, ESG Investing Certificate or SASB/GRI knowledge preferred.

Experience:

- 5-8 years of experience in ESG, ratings, or financial services, with 2+ years in business development/client-facing roles managing portfolio 500 CR+

- Familiarity with ESG frameworks like TCFD, GRI, CDP, MSCI, or Sustainalytics.

Skills:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and build long-term relationships.

- Analytical mindset and understanding of ESG data, disclosures, and reporting.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- New client acquisition and revenue growth

- ESG product penetration in key accounts

- Client satisfaction and retention

- Conversion rate from lead to closure

- Market expansion and strategic partnerships.
