1. ROLE PURPOSE:

The Business Case Analyst owns the sourcing data room and is responsible for creating, maintaining and keeping business cases up to date tracking changes to assumptions, scope and commercial terms as sourcing decisions evolve. The role underpins the Sourcing Strategy tower's Sourcing PMO activity, ensuring a single, accurate source of truth for every active business case.

The role draws on the standard set of activities a Business Case/Business Analyst performs inside a strategic sourcing or RFP Program Management Office requirements elicitation, feasibility and cost benefit analysis, gap analysis, and disciplined documentation with full audit trail of changes over time.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Room & Documentation Management:

- Own and maintain the sourcing data room organizing supporting documentation, business requirements and analysis inputs for all active sourcing cycles.

- Maintain document version control and change logs to ensure a single, accurate source of truth.

- Works closely with Sourcing Strategy Advisory group to develop executive-level investment cases for sourcing initiatives while quantifying financial and operational benefits.

Business Case Development:

- Elicit and translate business requirements from stakeholders into structured business-case inputs functional needs, feasibility, cost-benefit and TCO considerations.

- Build and maintain business cases for sourcing decisions, including cost-benefit analysis, TCO modelling and the qualitative/quantitative value case.

- Conduct gap analysis between current-state and proposed sourcing outcomes to validate business case assumptions.

Business Case Maintenance & Change Tracking:

- Keep business cases up to date as sourcing assumptions, scope or commercial terms evolve, maintaining a clear audit trail of changes and rationale.

- Track and log changes to underlying assumptions, cost baselines and projected value, escalating material changes to the Sourcing Strategy Lead.

Master Tracker & Reporting:

- Maintain the master tracker across all active RFPs, contracts and business cases within the tower.

- Support the Sourcing Strategy Lead and fellow analysts with data consolidation for governance and leadership reporting.

3. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

- 8+ years in IT Sourcing PMO or Business-analysis support roles.

- Experience developing or maintaining business cases (Power BI, etc.), cost-benefit analysis or TCO models.

- Strong documentation, requirements-elicitation and data-management skills.

- High attention to detail and comfort working with large, evolving data sets.

4. KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

- Strong requirements-elicitation and stakeholder-liaison skills.

- Proficiency with Excel/tracker tools, Power BI and data-room management.

- Analytical mindset for feasibility, cost-benefit and gap analysis.

5. SUCCESS MEASURES:

- Sourcing data room and master tracker remain accurate and current at all times.

- Business cases are complete, current and audit-ready ahead of governance reviews.

- Changes to business-case assumptions are tracked with a full, clear audit trail.

- Minimal data-quality issues identified during governance or audit checks.
