
Investran Implementation Lead - Private Equity
Job Description/Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced business analyst as FIS Investran Implementation Lead to play a critical role in the successful implementation, optimization, and ongoing configuration of our private equity fund accounting platform. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between our internal fund accounting team and the FIS Investran implementation team, ensuring that system design, workflows, controls, and data structures align with real-world private equity accounting and operational requirements.
This role requires deep hands-on knowledge of FIS Investran, strong private equity accounting expertise, and the ability to architect scalable, well-controlled processes across multiple user groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation & Project Leadership:
-Serve as the internal Investran subject-matter expert and day-to-day lead for the implementation effort
Act as the primary point of coordination between:
- Internal fund accounting, operations, and reporting teams
- FIS Investran implementation consultants and project managers
- Own implementation planning, milestones, dependencies, testing cycles, and issue resolution
- Translate accounting and operational requirements into clear system design and configuration specifications
Business Analysis & Process Architecture:
Architect end-to-end private equity fund accounting workflows within Investran, including:
- Capital calls and distributions
- Investor allocations and ownership tracking
- Fee, expense, and carried interest processing
- NAV calculation and close workflows
- Design and document process flows, handoffs, and approvals across accounting, operations, and reporting teams
- Establish control frameworks between different user roles and user groups (segregation of duties, approvals, audit trails)
- System Configuration & Data Governance
Lead or oversee setup and maintenance of:
- General Ledger (GL) master
- Security master
- Fund, investor, commitment, and entity structures
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across master data, accounting rules, and reporting outputs
- Partner with accounting leadership to ensure configurations align with GAAP and industry best practices
Controls, Testing & Go-Live Readiness:
- Define and execute UAT testing strategies, including scenario design and defect management
- Validate accounting outputs, postings, and reports against expected results
- Support go-live readiness, cutover planning, and post-implementation stabilization
- Develop documentation, SOPs, and training materials for internal teams
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting, fund administration, or financial systems implementation
- Deep, hands-on experience with FIS Investran (implementation, configuration, or advanced operational usage)
Strong understanding of private equity accounting concepts, including:
- Capital accounts and allocations
- Waterfalls and carried interest
- Fees, expenses, and investor reporting
- Proven experience acting as a senior business analyst and/or project manager on complex system implementations
- Ability to bridge technical system design with practical accounting workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with or alongside fund administrators or institutional asset managers
- Experience designing internal controls and audit-ready workflows within Investran
- Exposure to data integrations, reporting tools, or downstream systems (e.g., GL, reporting, investor portals)
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
