Business Analyst: Data
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst (Data) to join our data and analytics team. This role will act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and data teams, helping to translate business goals into actionable data requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience with data quality and KPI frameworks, and excellent communication skills to drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to define and document data quality rules and establish thresholds.
- Analyze business data needs to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics.
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions to gather business objectives and translate them into data requirements.
- Assist in prioritizing data initiatives based on business impact and strategic alignment.
- Support the development of business cases for data-related projects and improvements.
- Ensure continuous alignment between business goals and data strategy through regular stakeholder engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of data quality frameworks and KPI/metric development methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role.
- Experience working within Agile teams and familiarity with tools like Jira or Confluence.
