Role Purpose Statement
The Deputy General Manager - Trade Settlements will lead Bunge's global settlements function, ensuring accurate ERP management, timely month end close processes, robust reconciliations, and precise P&L impact capture across all commodity value chains. The role serves as the pivotal link between Mark-to-Market (MtM), Record-to-Report (RTR), Trade Contracts, Execution, and Controlling, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance in all settlement- related activities.
The role is responsible for establishing Bunge standard processes, enhancing controls, driving automation, and enabling a seamless, error free settlement environment that supports high- quality reporting and analytics.
Main Accountabilities
1. Leadership of Global Settlements Operations
- Lead end- to- end settlement activities across purchase and sales contracts, including order validation, ticketing, pricing application, freight adjustments, invoice issuance, and transactional accuracy in ERP systems.
- Oversee all settlement flows for Rail, Truck, Container, and Barge movements with strict adherence to contractual, financial, and compliance standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate handling of quality claims, adjustments, credit/debit notes, and revenue/cost finalization.
2. ERP Management & Data Integrity
- Own master data and transaction accuracy in SAP, ensuring correct application of pricing components, billing strings, ticket data, and contract amendments.
- Maintain governance for data quality, exception handling, and root- cause corrective actions.
- Partner with IT/ERP teams on enhancements, fixes, and automation opportunities.
3. Month-End Close, Reconciliations & P&L Accuracy
Lead the entire month- end settlement cycle:
- Open/close activities
- Reconciliation of open contracts, ticket status, freight accruals, and pending invoices
- Validation of quantity and pricing impacts
- Ensure complete and accurate P&L reflection by validating all trade events impacting gross margin, accruals, and cost of goods sold.
- Partner with RTR to ensure timely closing, accurate balances, and audit support.
4. Coordination with Mark-to-Market, RTR & Commercial Finance
- Work closely with the Mark- to- Market team to ensure timely valuation of exposures, contract positions, and adjustments.
- Ensure alignment on pricing curves, valuation dates, and settlement cut- offs.
- Collaborate with RTR on reconciliations, provisioning, accrual accuracy, and financial reporting compliance.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain close coordination with Trade Execution, Trade Contracts, Freight, Controlling, and Commercial to ensure smooth flow of settlement information.
- Resolve discrepancies related to quantity, pricing, documentation, freight, and quality in collaboration with execution teams.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Controls, Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Strengthen internal controls across settlement processes, including segregation of duties, approval matrices, and documentation trails.
- Ensure compliance with GAFTA/FOSFA/ANEC/NAEGA/ICA frameworks where applicable.
- Prepare for internal/external audits and drive remediation actions.
7. Process Excellence & Automation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging analytics, workflow tools, and automation to increase accuracy and reduce cycle time.
- Lead transition and standardization programs across business units for a unified global settlement model.
- Build playbooks/SOPs for global consistency and future scalability.
8. People Leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of analysts and managers across multiple locations.
- Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Align team capability with Bunge's strategic direction and BBS "Partner of Choice" ambitions.

Technical:
- Strong knowledge of SAP (S/4HANA preferred), including settlement modules, billing strings, master data, pricing, ticketing, and freight components.
- Strong understanding of trade contracts, commodity pricing structures, and cost components.
- Working knowledge of International Trade Execution, documentation, and quality/quantity settlement mechanisms.
- Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliation models).
- Proficiency in workflow tools and document imaging systems.
- Ability to interpret and validate Mark to Market and P&L impacts.
Education & Experience
- Graduate degree required; Post Graduation or MBA preferred.
- 12-18 years of experience in Trade Execution/Settlements/Finance, with minimum 5 years in leadership roles.
- Experience in global agribusiness, commodities, shared services, or high- volume transactional environments preferred
