We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented SAP Technical Data Migration Leader (Deputy General Manager Grade) to spearhead complex data migration initiatives for our SAP implementation and transformation programs.
This role is critical in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and secure transfer of data from legacy systems to SAP, maintaining data integrity and quality throughout the entire project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SAP data structures, extensive experience with various data migration tools, and proven leadership abilities to guide technical and functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning: Define and own the end-to-end data migration strategy in collaboration with solution architects and business stakeholders. Develop comprehensive data migration plans, cutover strategies, and risk mitigation plans.
- Leadership & Coordination: Lead and mentor technical and functional teams involved in the data migration process, including data analysts and developers. Coordinate data migration activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business processes and project timelines. Manage communication with stakeholders, including SAP consultants and project managers, providing status updates and escalating issues.
- Execution & Oversight: Oversee the entire Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) process, ensuring accurate data extraction, cleansing, mapping, and transformation rules are applied. Manage data loading processes using various SAP and third-party tools.
- Data Quality & Integrity: Establish data quality objectives and validation criteria in alignment with business requirements. Oversee data quality assurance, reconciliation, and defect resolution. Ensure data traceability and integrity throughout all test phases (Mock Loads, Dry Run, Cut-over).
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert-level knowledge and guidance on SAP data migration best practices, tools, and methodologies. Troubleshoot data issues and implement corrective actions.
- Integration / Interface: Solid experience in integrating SAP with other external system (using BTP, PI/PO), e-invoicing and other integration scenarios
- Documentation & Governance: Develop and maintain comprehensive data migration documentation, including data load plans and cutover strategies. Ensure adherence to data governance policies and procedures.
- Project Management: Actively participate in project governance, status reporting, and data quality workshops. Lead data migration and cutover track for several projects in parallel. Ensure timely delivery of migration milestones and a smooth transition with minimal business disruption.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of SAP experience, with at least 5 years in a dedicated Data Migration Lead or Architect role.
- Proven hands-on experience in multiple full-cycle SAP migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of SAP data structures across various modules (e.g., MM, SD, FI, CO, PP, WM).
- Proficiency in SAP data migration tools such as SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services (BODS), LSMW, BAPIs, and IDocs.
- Good knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Experience in integration (BTP, PI/PI, CPI)
- Familiarity with cloud-based migrations (e.g., S/4HANA on GCP, AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Experience with SAP MDG or other data quality tools is beneficial.
