We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to oversee and expand our sales operations in the Guwahati region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales strategy execution, client acquisition, and revenue generation. This role demands strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of customer needs, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment particularly in the education technology (EdTech) domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned region.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities and growth areas.
Business Development
- Identify and generate leads through various channels such as field visits, cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Explore untapped markets within the region to build a robust sales pipeline.
Client Relationship Management
- Manage end-to-end sales processes including lead generation, customer presentations, negotiations, and closing.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with schools, institutions, education consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide excellent post-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Team Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing, product, and customer support to align strategies and drive results.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline updates using CRM tools.
- Submit periodic reports to the regional manager on sales performance, challenges, and market feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Qualifications:
- MBA preferred
Experience & Knowledge:
- Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in field sales or business development, preferably in the EdTech, education, or B2B sector
- Strong knowledge of sales practices, client onboarding, and territory management
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets consistently
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM)
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in the education technology sector or working with schools/academic institutions is a significant advantage
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and regional languages (Assamese or Bengali) preferred
