Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Evaluation & Underwriting: Conduct thorough credit analysis of new and existing business customers by reviewing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements), credit reports, industry trends, and other relevant data.
- Credit Limit Management: Establish, review, and adjust credit limits for business accounts based on creditworthiness, payment history, and business volume, ensuring a balance between sales growth and risk mitigation.
- Risk Assessment & Monitoring: Continuously monitor the credit risk exposure of the customer portfolio, identifying potential red flags and taking proactive measures to prevent delinquency or bad debt.
- Policy Development & Compliance: Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of robust credit policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration with Sales & Collections: Work closely with the Sales team to support sales objectives while managing credit risk effectively.
- Collaborate with the Collections team to address overdue accounts and resolve complex payment issues.
- Customer Relationship Management: Interact with business clients regarding credit terms, financial information requests, and credit-related inquiries, maintaining professional and constructive relationships.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular credit risk reports, including aging analysis, bad debt provisions, and other key credit metrics for senior management.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve credit management processes and tools for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in business credit management, credit analysis, corporate lending, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in analyzing financial statements and assessing the creditworthiness of corporate entities.
- Solid understanding of credit risk management principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant credit laws and regulations (e.g, related to debt recovery, insolvency).
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g, SAP, Oracle) or dedicated credit management software is a plus
