BONHOEFFER Ventures is a newly formed early-stage investment platform backed by the founder of Bonhoeffer Machines. The firm is designed as a lean, thesis-driven micro-venture platform investing in high-quality Indian startups at the pre-seed and seed stages, with a long-term horizon and disciplined capital allocation approach.

Role Overview

The Managing Partner will have full ownership of the investment lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluating, executing, managing, and exiting startup investments. This is a high-autonomy role with significant decision-making authority, supported by a committed capital base and minimal bureaucracy.

The Founder's involvement is intentionally limited to strategic oversight and monthly reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Strategy & Execution

- Define and execute the investment thesis aligned with BONHOEFFER Ventures' mandate

- Source high-quality startup opportunities through networks, accelerators, and inbound deal flow

- Lead due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring

- Make independent investment decisions within agreed authority limits

Portfolio Management

- Actively manage portfolio companies at a board/advisory level

- Support founders on strategy, hiring, and follow-on fundraising

- Identify follow-on investment opportunities and capital allocation priorities

Governance & Reporting

- Maintain investment discipline, documentation, and compliance

- Provide a concise monthly performance and risk dashboard to the Founder

- Manage legal, financial, and regulatory processes with external advisors

Platform Building

- Build BONHOEFFER Ventures' reputation in the startup ecosystem

- Develop long-term relationships with founders, co-investors, and institutions

- Prepare the platform for potential future fund expansion (optional)

Authority & Decision Rights

- Full autonomy on sourcing and diligence

- Independent cheque-writing authority up to a pre-agreed limit

- Founder approval required only for investments above defined thresholds

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 8-15+ years of experience in venture capital, private investing, or senior startup leadership

- Proven experience deploying capital into early-stage startups

- Strong judgment in founder evaluation, market sizing, and risk assessment

- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision

- Strong network within the Indian startup ecosystem

What This Role Is Not

- Not an analyst or support role

- Not a passive advisory position

- Not a large-team management role

This is a true partner-level role with long-term upside.
