Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Assistant Vice President - Technology to lead and scale BLive's technology platforms powering multi-city EV fleet operations, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and engineering excellence across the organization. This role will own the end-to-end technology roadmap and delivery, build scalable and resilient architectures, and lead cross-functional engineering teams, while working closely with the Chief Business Officer (CBO) on strategic growth, product innovation, and expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Leadership & Platform Ownership:

- Own end-to-end technology strategy, roadmap, and execution for the BLive Mobility Platform

- Architect and scale a modular, multi-tenant SaaS platform across Fleet, Charging, Driver, and Carbon modules

- Partner with Product teams to convert feature roadmaps into engineering execution plans

- Drive continuous delivery, code quality, release discipline, and high platform uptime.

- Ensure scalability, reliability, and cost optimisation on AWS cloud infrastructure

Architecture & Hands-On Engineering:

- Lead by example through architecture ownership, code reviews, and critical development support

- Define and enforce technical standards, coding practices, and architecture frameworks

- Design microservices-based, API-first systems with strong data interoperability

- Oversee integrations with ERP platforms, OEM telematics, CIAM systems, and third-party APIs

- Partner with DevOps to implement secure, automated, and observable infrastructure (CI/CD, monitoring, IaC)

Engineering Execution & Team Leadership:

- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams across Backend, Frontend, QA, and DevOps

- Create a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, and innovation

- Conduct regular technical design, architecture, and database reviews

- Collaborate closely with Product and Business teams for clear sprint planning and delivery alignment

- Manage technology vendors and partners to accelerate delivery where required.

AI, Data & Innovation:

- Drive adoption of AI/ML for predictive analytics, route optimisation, and carbon intelligence

- Partner with data teams to build real-time, event-driven data pipelines (Kafka, SQS)

- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance mobility intelligence and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in software development, system architecture, and technology leadership

- Proven success in building or scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms

- Strong expertise in Node.js / NestJS, microservices architecture, and AWS

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS), containerisation, and IaC (Terraform / Ansible)

- Deep understanding of event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, SNS) and observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

- Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB)

- Exposure to security, compliance, performance tuning, and scalability

- Ability to make build vs buy decisions, manage vendors, and balance speed with long-term platform vision.

Preferred Background:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

- Experience in EV mobility, fleet technology, logistics platforms, or IoT ecosystems

- Familiarity with AI/ML use cases, telematics data, or carbon analytics.
