
- This role is responsible for driving portfolio, BD and commercial function.
- The incumbent will support end-to-end deal-making processes, drive portfolio management , and support cross-functional coordination to ensure long-term value creation from portfolioassets and partnerships.
Business Development:
- Identify,evaluate, and pursue Out/In licensing, co-development, and acquisition opportunities globally with strategic partners across designated geographies and customer segments aligned with company strategy.
- Lead end-to-end deal execution, including opportunity assessment, valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and contract closure.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners and drive commercial management.
- Build business cases to evaluate new opportunities and support decision-making.
- Support pricing, market access, and launch planning in coordination with the SCM/launch teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development initiatives with organizational goals.
- Represent the company at conferences, business meetings, and industry forums to build partnerships and networks.
Portfolio and Pipeline Development:.
- Identify new therapies and products that are complementary to the company's existing portfolio, particularly in the anti-diabetic and biotech space.
- Conduct market and therapeutic area analyses to identify unmet needs and emerging opportunities.
- Create process & Drive product evaluations, market assessments, and competitor benchmarking to inform go/no-go decisions.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment between BD, R&D, regulatory, medical affairs, and supply chain on asset development and commercialization strategy.
- Monitor portfolio performance, lifecycle stage, and risk factors; propose mitigation plans or value-optimization measures.
- Support pricing, market access, and launch planning in coordination with the SCM/launch teams.
Internal Leadership and Governance:
- Lead internal governance meetings (portfolio review, asset prioritization, BD updates).
- Contribute to the company's strategic growth roadmap through market and partner intelligence.
- Mentor junior BD and portfolio team members as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's /master degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in business development and portfolio management in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of generics, biosimilars, and/or specialty pharma market dynamics, development pathways, and commercialization models.
- Demonstrated experience leading portfolio management and leading licensing deals.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and valuation.
- Open to work in a startup environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
