Company Description:

bijnis is a technology driven B2B commerce platform transforming how manufacturers run, grow and scale their factories. With the vision to "Take Factories to the World," bijnis connects manufacturers and retailers across India while digitizing critical business functions such as demand, supply, capital and operations. The business operates across B2B marketplace and quick commerce models, with high transaction volumes involving marketplace settlements, inventory, warehousing, logistics, retailer collections, vendor payments, returns and multi location operations.

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially aware Finance Controller who can build a disciplined, accurate and scalable finance function aligned with the complexity and growth of the business. Learn more at: www.bijnis.com.

Role Description:

The Finance Controller is a full time, on site role based in South Delhi, responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls and disciplined financial operations. The role will own financial statements, accounting records, statutory compliance, audits, marketplace settlements, inventory accounting, cash flow monitoring and working capital governance. It will also support budgeting, forecasting and business decision making through timely financial insights.

This is a hands on role for someone who can take complete ownership of the books, understand transaction level complexities and build scalable finance processes for a fast growing business. The Finance Controller will work closely with leadership, operations and cross functional teams to improve financial accuracy, compliance and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure, including Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow, provisions, accruals, and reconciliations.

- Ensure accurate accounting for marketplace commissions, retailer collections, factory settlements, discounts, returns, claims, logistics charges, and payment-gateway transactions.

- Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliation, goods in transit, shrinkage, damages, ageing, and provisioning across warehouses.

- Ensure reconciliation between ERP, order-management systems, payment gateways, bank accounts, customer ledgers, vendor ledgers, and warehouse systems.

- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer ageing, vendor settlements, cash-flow visibility, and working-capital controls.

- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, TCS, corporate tax, Companies Act, and other applicable statutory requirements.

- Lead statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and financial due diligence.

- Design and strengthen internal controls across revenue, procurement, inventory, collections, payments, settlements, and treasury.

- Build SOPs, improve ERP utilisation, automate reconciliations, and reduce manual or spreadsheet-driven processes.

- Identify and control revenue, margin, inventory, and cash leakages.

- Partner with business, operations, supply chain, product, and technology teams to ensure financial controls are built into processes and systems.

- Build and mentor a strong controllership team as the business scales.

Candidate Profile:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 6-10 years of post-qualification experience.

- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, GST, TDS, TCS, corporate taxation, and audit management.

- Proven experience owning financial closure, statutory compliance, audits, and internal controls.

- Experience in B2B commerce, e-commerce, quick commerce, retail, distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-led businesses is preferred.

- Strong understanding of marketplace settlements, inventory accounting, high-volume reconciliations, and working-capital management.

- Experience with ERP implementation, finance automation, or system integration will be an advantage.

What We Are Looking For:

- High ownership and zero tolerance for inaccurate financial information.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate issues at transaction level.

- Commercial understanding of margins, cash flow, and working capital.

- Ability to build scalable processes and challenge weak controls.

- Strong communication, integrity, and cross-functional leadership.

This is not a reporting-only role. The Finance Controller will be expected to go deep into transactions, systems, inventory, settlements, and operating processes to build a reliable and scalable finance function. For any queries, feel free to reach out
