About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Direct Tax Partner to lead and expand our Direct Tax practice. The role involves providing strategic tax advisory services, managing client relationships, ensuring technical excellence, mentoring teams, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

- Develop and execute strategies to grow the Direct Tax practice.

- Identify new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships.

- Build strong networks with corporates, promoters, CFOs, legal firms, and industry professionals.

- Prepare proposals, participate in pitches, and convert leads into engagements.

Client Advisory & Tax Practice Leadership:

- Lead Direct Tax engagements for corporate, non-corporate, and multinational clients.

- Provide strategic advice on Income Tax, International Taxation, Transfer Pricing, and tax structuring matters.

- Advise clients on tax-efficient business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.

- Represent clients before Income Tax Authorities, Commissioner Appeals, DRP, ITAT, and other regulatory bodies.

- Review and oversee tax compliance, tax audits, and litigation matters.

Team Management:

- Lead, mentor, and develop Managers, Assistant Managers, and Associates.

- Ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to professional standards.

- Conduct technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Technical Excellence & Risk Management:

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, judicial pronouncements, and regulatory developments.

- Review opinions, advisory notes, tax positions, and litigation strategies.

- Ensure compliance with ICAI guidelines and firm quality standards.

- Manage engagement risks and maintain professional ethics.

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with a strong academic and professional background.

- Additional qualifications such as LLB, DISA, or International Tax certifications will be an advantage.

Experience:

- 15+ years of relevant experience in Direct Taxation within a reputed CA firm, consulting firm, or professional services organization.

- Proven experience in tax advisory, litigation, assessments, and practice development.

- Established client network and business development capabilities preferred.
