
Role:
We are hiring a Senior Business, Manufacturing, or Operations Techno-Commercial Leader with deep hospitality experience. You will bring real-world hotel operations and engineering credibility to Bert Labs to accelerate deployment excellence, customer success, and category leadership in the Hotels & Hospitality Industry Segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the Hotels & Hospitality Vertical Go-to-market Strategy, Customer Experience Modernization, Energy Efficiency Optimization, and Asset Predictive Maintenance Product Solutions for large Indian and global hotels.
- Lead high-stakes Customer Engagements starting from Discovery, Solutioning, Techno-Commercial Negotiations, and Deployment of the Bert Platform Solution.
- Translate complex hotel operational realities, such as guest comfort standards, multi-property complexity, peak/off-peak loads, legacy BMS, sustainability goals, and CapEx/OpEx trade-offs, into requirements for our Foundation AI-Distributed Computing-IoT Devices Platform Solutions.
- Drive measurable outcomes for customers, including energy cost savings, carbon reduction, asset reliability, and guest-experience modernization, while enhancing operational KPIs.
- Build and mentor internal capability on Hotel & Hospitality domain knowledge, acting as the bridge between hotel engineering/ops teams and Bert Labs product, data science, and deployment engineers.
- Contribute to case studies, thought leadership, industry forums, and reference programs that establish Bert Labs as the preferred deep-tech partner for the Hotel & Hospitality Segment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, delivery, and leadership to hit aggressive growth targets in the Hotel & Hospitality Segment.
Experience & Background:
- 20-30+ years in Hotel & Hospitality Segment Operations, Engineering & Facility Management, preferably with multi-property or corporate/regional responsibility.
- Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical/related) or Hotel Management with strong technical grounding preferred; advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager) are a plus.
- Proven track record in roles such as Chief Engineer, Regional Engineering, or Technical Services leadership with hands-on ownership of Cooling Utility Systems, Energy Systems, Plant operations, maintenance, and CapEx projects.
- Deep familiarity with hotel energy centers, BMS, chiller plants, AHUs, guest-room controls, sustainability reporting, and the practical constraints of 24/7 luxury operations.
- Experience delivering or overseeing measurable efficiency, cost, or carbon improvements inside hotels is highly valued.
- Comfortable operating at the intersection of operations excellence, technology adoption, and commercial outcomes.
- Strong preference for candidates who have worked extensively with large hotel groups or comparable luxury/upscale operators.
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional stakeholder management with General Managers, Chief Engineers, Corporate Ops/Engineering heads, owners, and asset managers.
- Ability to quantify and communicate ROI in the language of hotel P&L (energy cost, POMEC, guest satisfaction, asset life).
- Data- and outcome-oriented mindset; openness to AI/IoT solutions that go beyond traditional BMS or energy audits.
- Leadership presence, credibility in boardroom and plant-room settings, and the ability to coach both technical and non-technical teams.
