We are seeking a dedicated specialist to lead certification efforts for our growing portfolio of industrial IoT hardware.

Job Description

Bert Maximus- /Bert Qrious- Supply Chain & Compliance Lead will be responsible for strategy & execution plan towards supply chain - fabrication, assembly, testing, casing design, casing manufacturing, PCB, casing & device compliance & certification, in accordance to regulatory requirements on wireless networks, EMC/EMI and industry wise (Pharma, Cement, Chemical/Specialty Chemical, Power Plant, Material, Automobile, Pulp & Paper, FMCG, Airport, Hotel, Hospital, Office Complex, Retail Mall, Energy Transmission & Distribution)

This role ensures our wireless-enabled smart energy meters, controllers, sensors, and edge devices comply with Indian mandatory standards (BIS-CRS, WPC ETA, TEC MTCTE, and related cybersecurity requirements), enabling seamless product launches, imports, and sales in the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities

- Research, identify, and track applicable Indian regulatory requirements for IoT/electronic hardware, including BIS CRS, WPC ETA, TEC MTCTE, STQC IoTSCS, and any emerging standards (e.g., for smart metering, wireless RF, or IoT security).

- Plan and lead certification activities for Bert Labs including IS 16444 Certification for smart energy monitoring/energy meter devices, TEC certification (MTCTE) for telecom enabled communication modules wherever applicable, WPC ETA for wireless RF devices, EMC/EMI compliance (IEC 61000 series), electrical safety certification, environmental testing (temperature, vibration, humidity), RoHS compliance

- Develop and maintain certification roadmaps and timelines for new products and variants.

- Ensure products bear required marks (BIS Standard Mark, TEC label, etc.) and maintain records for renewals/audits.

- Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., new QCOs, MTCTE phases, ITSARs for IoT) and advise on impact to product roadmap.

- Support international certifications (USA, UK, EU, Singapore/Southeast Asia, Middle East) and internal quality audits.

- Handle post-certification surveillance, non-conformance resolution, and renewal processes.

Certification Execution

- Coordinate product testing with NABL-accredited certification laboratories for RF, EMC/EMI, safety, and environmental compliance.

- Prepare and submit certification applications and maintain required documentation including:

technical files

product specifications

test reports

declarations of conformity

compliance documentation

Regulatory Liaison

- Interface with regulatory authorities and certification agencies including:

BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards)

WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing)

TEC (Telecommunication Engineering Centre)

MeitY and relevant regulatory bodies

certification labs and testing agencies.

- Manage certification queries and regulatory approval processes.

Design for Compliance

- Work closely with hardware, firmware, and product engineering teams to implement Design for Compliance (DfC) practices early in product development.

- Provide compliance guidance during hardware design, RF design, and product architecture stages.

Compliance Monitoring

- Track regulatory updates and standards related to:

smart energy meters

RF spectrum regulations

telecom communication modules

industrial electronics compliance

IoT cybersecurity standards

- Maintain certification records and manage renewals, surveillance audits, and compliance documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Global Certification Support

- Support international certifications for global markets including:

CE marking (Europe)

FCC certification (USA)

ETSI compliance

- Leading Supply chain strategy, planning & execution for Bert Maximus- IoT systems on chip platform devices around fabrication, assembly, component procurement, testing, casing design and manufacturing.

- Leading company's relationship with third party vendors in the supply chain eco system.

- Collaborating with Bert Maximus- researchers and developers for effective outcomes on prototyping, mass production for supply installation and commissioning at client sites (factories and buildings).

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field

- Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field will be a plus

- 8-15 years of experience in product supply chain certification/compliance for electronics, IoT, telecom, or wireless devices.

- Strong knowledge of Indian regulations: BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme), WPC ETA, TEC MTCTE, and related standards (IS standards for safety/EMC, ERs for IoT).

- Experience with testing labs, regulatory submissions, and liaising with BIS/TEC/WPC authorities.

- Familiarity with IoT-specific requirements (cybersecurity, wireless protocols, smart metering standards) is highly preferred.

- Knowledge of international standards (e.g., IEC, ETSI, FCC) is a plus.

- Strong existing relationships with leading companies in the supply chain and certification/compliance ecosystem

Required Skills:

- Attention to detail, regulatory interpretation, and problem-solving.

- Proficiency in tools for compliance tracking and report generation.

- Strong communication for stakeholder coordination.
