Bangalore International Airport - Senior Manager - Infrastructure

JOB PURPOSE:

Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) is developing a smart, sustainable, and vibrant Airport City over approximately 530 acres within the airport campus. To achieve this vision, BIAL has established Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) as a wholly owned subsidiary.

The Senior Manager Infrastructure will lead and manage overall infrastructure planning, design coordination, and delivery for large-scale mixed-use developments. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to ensure designs align with organizational vision, cost objectives, statutory requirements, and execution timelines. The position takes ownership of the infrastructure and utility design matters throughout the project lifecycle.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Lead infrastructure planning and design for roads, water supply, sewerage, drainage, and structural infrastructure elements.

- Coordinate with internal planning teams and external consultants to ensure integrated design development.

- Review and guide electrical (HV/LV), ICT, telecom, fire-fighting, street lighting, traffic signals, and gas networks.

- Act as focal point for all utility engineering issues during design and construction stages.

- Prepare and review block cost estimates and support value engineering.

- Support construction and commissioning activities including review of contractor submittals.

- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design intent.

- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, QA/QC systems, and contractual requirements.

- Integrate smart infrastructure solutions such as smart sensors and meters.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

DIMENSIONS:

Financial: Infrastructure budgets, project costing, capex control.

Non-Financial: Coordination with consultants and internal stakeholders.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Education: Bachelors in Civil Engineering & Masters in Infrastructure Planning or equivalent

Experience: 12+ years in city-scale infrastructure planning and design.

Skills: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, infrastructure design software.
