Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role in Chennai for a Sales Manager.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for acquiring new customers, managing relationships with existing customers, driving insurance product sales, and ensuring achievement of assigned business targets. The role also involves addressing customer inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and preparing periodic reports.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify, acquire, and develop new customers through various channels.

- Promote and cross-sell life insurance plans based on customer needs.

- Build and manage relationships with distributors, partners, and advisors.

- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and financial needs assessments.

- Ensure best-in-class customer experience and timely query resolution.

- Maintain accurate customer data, proposals, and documentation.

- Track sales activities, maintain pipelines, and prepare MIS/reports.

- Collaborate with branch and operations teams for policy issuance and servicing.

- Participate in marketing campaigns, lead-generation activities, and roadshows.

- Ensure adherence to regulatory and company compliance policies.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

- Achievement of monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets

- New business premium and policy count generation

- Active recruitment, onboarding, and productivity of Insurance Consultants/Agents (if agency model)

- Renewal premium retention and persistency improvement

- Lead conversion rate from assigned and self-generated leads

- Growth in cross-sell and upsell product penetration

- Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution TAT

- Channel and partner relationship management effectiveness

- Compliance adherence with IRDAI and company guidelines

- Timeliness and accuracy of sales reports and documentation

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in Sales or Customer Service

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication

- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools

- Experience in life insurance or financial services is an advantage

- Master's degree in any discipline preferred
