Head - Mutual Fund & Fixed Income Products

Grade: B1/A4

Designation: Assistant Vice President/ Vice President


Location: Preferably Delhi NCR / Else Mumbai


Reports To: CEO / Chairman


Span of Control: 4-5 Direct Reports


Job Purpose:


The purpose of this role is to lead both the Mutual Fund and Fixed Income Product verticals of Bajaj Capital Ltd and ensure achievement of target revenues from these investment products through robust product strategy, sales enablement, and digital innovation. The incumbent will drive revenue, product diversification, and market penetration while ensuring compliance, superior client experience, and profitability across all channels.

Key Job Responsibilities:


Business & Revenue Growth:

- Ensure revenue and AUM growth from Mutual Funds and Fixed Income (FI) products across Retail, HNI, Corporate, and Institutional clients.

- Drive and implement integrated sales strategies to enhance productivity and wallet share across PAN India.

- Ensure incremental growth in secondary debt business (bonds, NCDs) and conversion of FI maturities into debt mutual funds.

- Build bundled offerings combining MFs, FDs, Bonds, and NPS to upscale client wallet share.

Product Strategy & Innovation:


- Develop innovative investment propositions and thematic MF/FI solutions (Hybrid, ELSS, SIPs, Corporate Bonds, G-Secs, etc.).

- Lead automation of Fixed Income products (e.g., Company FDs, NPS) from offline to online modes.

- Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify product gaps and market opportunities.

- Promote FI + MF cross-selling frameworks for better yield and diversification.

Channel & Distribution Development:

- Build and strengthen the distribution network for both MF and FI products by onboarding AMCs, issuers, and brokers.

- Conduct joint client calls with RMs and Wealth Specialists to promote MF and FI participation.

- Drive engagement with relationship managers and sales teams to increase penetration across channels.

Sales Enablement & Training:

- Conduct regular training and refresher sessions for sales teams on both MF and FI products.

- Provide collaterals, presentations, and client education material for seamless advisory conversations.

- Mentor teams to become well-rounded Investment Product Specialists.

Governance, Compliance & Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with SEBI, AMFI, and PFRDA regulations as applicable to investment products.

- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Finance for product approvals, reconciliations, and audits.

- Maintain accurate reporting of product revenues, margins, and productivity metrics.

Client Experience & Retention:

- Drive initiatives to enhance client satisfaction through transparency, education, and digital journeys.

- Ensure proactive feedback capture and implementation for continuous service improvement.

- Support goal-based financial planning integrating MFs and FIs for long-term client retention.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:


- Deep understanding of Mutual Fund and Fixed Income instruments, regulations, and market trends.

- Strong analytical ability for portfolio evaluation, fund performance, and market opportunity analysis.

- Knowledge of digital investment platforms, APIs, and marketplace integrations.

- Excellent communication and people management skills for multi-channel collaboration.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward innovation, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Education & Experience:


- MBA/PGDM (Finance/Marketing) with NISM V-A Certification (mandatory).

- 14 to 16 years of experience in Mutual Fund / Fixed Income product management or wealth distribution.

- Prior leadership experience in AMC, brokerage, or top MF distributor preferred.

- Exposure to digital transformation and automation of investment products will be an advantage.
