Badili is a fast-growing ReCommerce business operating across multiple African, Gulf and European countries.
The Role:
We're hiring a Head of HR & People Strategy to build and lead the people function across a multi-country, multi-cultural operation, and to act as a true strategic partner to the CEO. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role based in Delhi, owning HR end-to-end across Badili's markets and leading a small existing HR team as it scales.
What You'll Do:
1. International Workforce & Mobility Strategy:
- Design and run Badili's expat-local workforce model - deploying and rotating Indian talent alongside local market hires across all our geographies as markets mature.
- Own the cost and structuring logic behind country placement decisions: balancing visa categories, work permits, and entity setup costs against business-visa or interim arrangements as performance and tenure dictate.
- Build a repeatable framework for how a market's workforce structure should evolve at each headcount and revenue milestone, so expansion decisions are systematic rather than case-by-case.
2. HR Strategy & Business Partnership:
- Partner directly with the CEO on workforce planning, org design, and people strategy across all markets.
- Lead talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Design compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and reward programs suited to a multi-market workforce.
3. Learning & Capability Building:
- Build a structured L&D function for Badili's distributed in-market teams (business managers, brand ambassadors, retail staff), similar to how large consumer organizations run capability-building cascades across wide field forces.
- Design and roll out onboarding, leadership development, and role-specific training programs that scale across markets without heavy central delivery overhead.
4. HR Operations & Systems:
- Own HR systems and infrastructure (HRMS rollout, AI-enabled hiring tools, HR dashboards and reporting).
- Manage employee relations, labor compliance, and statutory requirements across all operating geographies.
- Oversee relationships with recruitment agencies, payroll providers, and outsourcing/HR vendors.
- Manage HR budgeting and labor cost forecasting across the group.
What We're Looking For:
- 10-12 years in HR, including senior generalist or leadership experience spanning multiple countries.
- Experience in consumer electronics, telecom, FMCG, retail, or other fast-moving multi-market businesses.
- Track record building HR processes and capability-building programs from a relatively early stage, ideally across a distributed field force.
- Experience with international mobility, work permits, or multi-country compliance is a strong plus.
- Comfortable operating as a strategic partner to a CEO, bringing structure and proposals proactively.
- Strong analytical orientation - comfortable with cost modeling, HR dashboards, and data-driven decision-making.
- Willingness to travel periodically to our markets as needed.
