JOB PROFILE : CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER / ENGINEERING HEAD (Mumbai) Reports to : CEO JOB DESCRIPTION : 1. Responsible for building and leading a strong &amp; agile engineering team, which is ahead of the curve &amp; engaged in creating one of the most successful next generation e-commerce products. 2. Carefully formulate &amp; implement Build vs Buy Decision strategy to ensure complete focus, timely product shipment and achieve overall strategic dominance. 3. Planning technical strategy, product roadmaps, resources requirement and technology cost/budget. 4. Own technical &amp; architectural decision-making, and be responsible with defining strong engineering processes to establish rhythm, plan product releases and ensure timely delivery. 5. Ensure excellent uptime for architecture, database, platform, and front-end applications for faster response time and 24/7 availability. 6. Deliver an excellent user experience to customers, ensuring a friction less shopping experience to improve customer loyalty &amp; ensure higher conversion rate and average basket size. 7. Provide leadership and direction to direct reportees and small agile teams across a variety of complex projects spanning web development, backend services development and multiple languages. 8. Responsible for ongoing training, career development and performance management of the team. 9. Partner with functional and product management teams to deliver business needs and provide input to the strategic direction of product development, directly influencing the business direction of new and existing products. 10. Closely &amp; constantly engage with the CEO and leadership team to understand the vision &amp; ensure the strategic evolution of back-end architecture, code-base, and product design to realize the same. 11. Closely engaged in developing technology business plans and budgets that support the short-term budget &amp; long-term growth and business objectives of the company. JOB SPECIFICATION : 1. 15+ years of relevant &amp; demonstrated hands-on technical management experience of software engineering. 2. Qualifications &amp; Experience : B.Tech./ BE/ MS from a reputed engineering college like IIT/ NIT/ Bits Pilani only. 3. Tech expertise in Open Source/ PHP, My SQL, Java, JS, HTML, CSS3, Cloud Platform, Integration, Big Data 4. Skills : ios, my sql, jquery, java, html, cloud platform, big data. 5. Demonstrated experience in large scale Java development, mobile and web applications. 6. Prior consumer internet experience preferred - Experience in working in a highly collaborative environment. 7. Experience in eCommerce, big data, and data science is preferred but not necessary. 8. Strong communication and convincing skill. 9. Multitasking ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment under pressure. 10. Inspirational leader with the ability to build the next in line management.
