The Role:
The Campus Partnerships Head leads the design and implementation of partnerships with colleges in Avantis College Support program - a program for first generation low income (FGLI) learners going to top colleges across the country and focuses on increasing their career outcomes.
You will be expected to set up student chapters in colleges, understand the gaps which prevent first-generation learners from achieving their potential, work with student leaders and volunteers, liaise with faculty and admin representatives and take up other tasks that are needed to establish official student chapters and other efforts backed by the college administration to achieve the program outcomes.
Here are a few details on the role:
- Design and lead primary research efforts in colleges to understand the barriers that prevent such students from staying on-track to achieving good placement outcomes.
- Set up on-campus student chapters to provide mentorship support to such students.
- Establish contact and conduct exploratory meetings with members of the faculty and college administration to examine the existing efforts that are in place to address similar barriers.
- Establish working relationships with the faculty and college administration to obtain official recognition and support for the student chapters and other efforts that are designed a part of the program.
- Conduct periodic project reviews within teams and with senior leaders to monitor progress, report gaps and figure out mitigation steps taking into account budgetary considerations.
- Involvement in hiring of team members for the execution of above responsibilities.
What Youll Actually Do:
- Work with college students for understanding barriers and college landscape.
- Meet members of the faculty and administration regularly.
- Work with student chapters to design and implement mentorship programs.
- Conduct interviews for hiring.
- Conduct training and onboarding of new team members.
- Conduct review meetings and check-ins with project teams and senior leaders.
- Travel to target college campuses.
- Prepare workplans and reports.
