Job Title: Director, People Partner Location: Pune, India Overview: - The Director, People Partner will serve as a strategic advisor and business partner to senior leaders within Customer and Compliance Operations (CCO), driving a high-performance, scalable, and inclusive organization. - Reporting to the Senior Director, People & Culture (India), this role will develop and execute HR strategies that align with business objectives, including organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and change management. - The ideal candidate possesses deep business acumen, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to challenge and influence senior leadership. This role will lead People team based in Pune and Noida locations, ensuring alignment with Avalaras Go Global strategy while fostering a high-impact, people-first culture. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Business Partnership & Leadership Influence: - Act as a trusted advisor to global and local CCO leadership, providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to enhance people and business decisions. - Influence senior business leaders, ensuring proactive approaches to people-related challenges with a long-term, strategic focus. - Assess organizational health, diagnose root causes of people challenges, and proactively implement innovative solutions. - Advocate for a high-performance culture by driving differentiated talent strategies that reinforce Avalaras values and goals. Organizational Design & Change Leadership: - Design and implement scalable organizational structures that support the expansion of CCO, ensuring alignment with Avalaras Go Global strategy. - Lead organizational effectiveness initiatives, ensuring CCO remains agile, efficient, and prepared for sustained growth. - Spearhead change management efforts, equipping leaders with the tools and strategies to navigate business transformations and workforce shifts effectively. Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning: - Develop and drive comprehensive workforce planning strategies in collaboration with Talent Acquisition, anticipating future talent needs. - Drive a strong and diverse leadership pipeline within CCO by identifying key leadership positions and implementing leadership programs to elevate management capabilities. Data-Driven Insights & HR Operational Excellence: - Develop and leverage HR analytics and dashboards to deliver proactive, data-driven insights to business leaders. - Utilize HR technology and automation to enhance efficiency, streamline HR operations, and optimize the employee experience. People Team Leadership & Culture Development: - Lead and mentor a team of People Partners and HR Generalists, ensuring the delivery of high-impact HR support to CCO teams across India. - Champion Avalaras Success Traits, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. - Promote and drive a culture of inclusion, engagement, and high performance throughout the organization. Qualifications & Skills: - 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in global organizations. - Expertise in HR business partnering, organizational design, and change management at a senior level. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage HR data and insights to inform decision-making. - Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior leadership while driving strategic HR initiatives. - Experience leading and developing HR teams to ensure business impact and high performance. - Deep understanding of workforce planning, talent development, and HR operational excellence within a dynamic environment. - Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
